X3 takes lane clips edit question

say you have several takes , is there a way for the main track to show only the active or not muted clips?
The problem I have is it also shows the inactive clips so it looks cluttered and when I try to edit a clip's envelop, in many cases it selected the envelop of a clip layered below the active one and although I can edit the envelop, I have no idea which clip got edited. Hope it makes sense

Sadly it's not possible to hide muted clips so they'll always be visible even when the lanes are collapsed. The best solution to only edit the active clips is to lock the muted clips, by right-clicking on them and selecting Clip Lock -> Lock Data (and Lock Position too, if you like).

Do you need to keep the muted clips? If not, you could select the "Delete Muted Takes" option and that ought to remedy your problem. Otherwise, it looks like you'll have to do your edits with the lanes expanded.

Thanks for the replies. I can't think of a case where one wants to see the layered muted clips.  I typically keep all clips until the project is final (which sometimes is never LOL).
The Take Lane is a good idea but I think it can use a lot of improvements.
I'm on the sideline observing the new Platinum version to see if the Take Lane workflow is improved.

I tend to make a clone of the recording track.. Then I archive and hide it for safety and continue my work on the cloned track... After I finish selecting the clips/portions I want, I delete the unused clips and have a clean track of my selections with the original track in storage... Just in case... ;-)
