Best Edition To Upgrade To From Sonar 7PE?

So I finally made the switch to Win7 64bit.  Anxiety is high, palms sweaty, and my mom's spaghetti is really good.

I've been using S7PE for about 6 years and I've hear people talking about a lot of issues with running it on Win7/64. Knowing my fortune, I will most likely run into a plethora of issues dealing with not being able to continue working on projects due to incompatibility with VSTis, Effects, etc., whether it be due to changing editions or continuing them on Win7.

What is the best Edition to upgrade to from the lovely Sonar 7PE?  By best, I mean the Edition that will be the smoothest transition with the least likelihood of errors.

Thanks.

Be aware that whatever was offered in 7PE may no longer be offered in the New SONAR. So after install, you may want to d a "custom" install of the "extras" in 7PE that you don't want to lose.

Lexicon Pantheon comes to mind. Session Drummer 2 is another. Bear in mind that you want to install 64bit 7PE if it exists (IIRC it does, but I may be wrong) else you will be using bitbridge (by default) to run any 32bit plugs.

If you are a non-3rd party plug user then you may well be served by SONAR Professional. However the difference in cost to Platinum is far outweighed by the inclusion of Addictive Drums 2.

I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference as the core program for each of the three current versions is the same. Bear in mind that there are probably things that you like in your old program that you won't have in the new version - some of the old plug-ins for example and if you're going to use it,  the melodyne version that is included is pretty basic and really needs to be upgraded.

If you're happy with what you have, I would try it first - you may not need to upgrade at all.

Every upgrade brings a learning curve with it. I would just go for Sonar Platinum. By audio deluxe it is now $125.00 I think.

    ** For X3PE to Platiunum.

From any (other) Producer it's $158.99

No brainer, go for the version that is currently supported perpetually, Platinum.

I just don't see someone upgrading to Platinum and then regretting it later thinking they should have got Producer or Artist.
