[CWBRN-34262] Sonar X3 Video trouble during count-in

So I've been using X3 as my go to software for film scoring, I just love the interface and how it manages my VSTs. One problem I've been having recently is a couple of video clips (each about 5 min. in length) that I need to write music to have a problem during the metronome count-in. I always have the count-in set to 1 measure (in these cases it's 4 beats/clicks), but during the count-in, the video starts to play, but the audio does not. Finally when the count-in finishes and starts to record, the video has already been playing and then the audio starts, making the two way out of sync.

Both clips are mp4's, and I've not had this problem on X3 before, but it's driving me nuts. Has anyone had this problem or have any idea what's wrong?

Thanks,
hyurich

FWIW, I can reproduce this in X3 and Platinum, but not in X1 or X2. I think this project originated in X2.

A possible contributing factor is that my video is AVI from a camera that records at only 15 fps; this isn't available in SONAR so it's set to 30fps.

    - Sync is off by 24 frames at 15 fps, which is consistent with a 1-measure count-in at 148BPM (~1.6 seconds).
    - The video starts playing immediately on hitting R to record, but at an extremely slow frame rate, and the frame counter stays at 0 during count-in.
    - Then the counter starts running along with the Now cursor, but immediately jumps to 24 frames, and the video fast-forwards to match.
    - When I stop the transport, both the video and the frame counter jump back to the correct location.

    Any news on this?
I can confirm this with Platinum (Foxboro). I checked it with my own videos and as well with the video from the tutorials folder (Boarding.wmv). With a count-in the video playback starts immediately and is exactly the number of count-in measures ahead.

Does the OP fill out the problem report?

This problem needs a CWBRN.  if the OP didn't fill one out, any of those interested who have confirmed it can fill one out.  if you're not the OP and you've filled out a problem report on this, send a PM to a Host and we can modify the title to put the CWBRN in the title.
