Bridge Over Troubled Water by 11 year old girl

I did a CD project for a local 11 year old girl.  She has a voice like someone older. 
The song is "Bridge Over Troubled Water", and yes I know its a Karoke track, but its to showcase her voice.

This was done using Sonar Platinum.  I used the Rematrix Solo "Go To Verb" reverb on her voice, nothing else.   It was mastered with Ozone 5, Country Pop preset.
 
 

Well she certainly does not sound eleven years old.  Must admit the track is very hot I had to turn it down because all I got was square waves until I had.  But it was worth the listen and she will do well with some gentle coaching.

I use Ozone 5 on all my mastering.  I have my "go to's" such as the Country Basic for a lot of what I do (which is traditional country) but I use various presets depending on the situation.   But, if I do everything right on each track the Country Basic works well.  I don't add any reverb with Ozone, just what is added to the individual tracks.  The Country Basic just adds a little compression. 
 
I also have the newer Ozone 6 but I rarely use it.  They renamed all the presets and I haven't found out what they are yet. Plus, from posts I've seen on other forums, some of the modules in Ozone 5 are now only in Ozone 6 advanced.
 
I'll take a look at the reverb.  This was the first project that I used the new Rematrix Solo reverb (and I used the default setting).  I've been using Sonitus Reverb for years and mostly the Short and Sweet preset.   The music track is how it is, I did nothing to that.  It was supplied by the client and wasn't a good track and got worse when I changed the key from Eb to G for her.  I'll get my ex Nashville Producer and Songwriter friend to critique the CD and see what he thinks, and I'll get an honest evaluation from him.  I've done several song demos and original song CD's for him and have learned a lot about recording and mixing from him.  He says he learned from Billy Sherrill and Owen Bradley (two biggie Nashville Producers).
 
Comments on Facebook for her new CD are all positive (but then probably no one will say anything but positive).

It is a Karaoke track, supplied by the client.  Nothing I can do with that.  And, as I noted I had to change the key from Eb to G and it made it worse.
 
But, I appreciate all the comments, good and bad. 

She sings really good. I agree that the reverb is a bit much in beginning more so on the piano than the voice. Later its not so noticeable.
 
I wish my daughter would focus because she has the raw talent but just no desire to work. Sigh!
 
Good job though.

Instead of a karaoke track, why not try a MIDI track - especially if you can't get a real piano player. A song like this has a bunch available for download, you can change the key without degradation, and export as an audio file to mix with the vocals.
