Names of presets reverting to "default" after closing plugin
This is a strange issue I've run into. I'm not sure if it's the fault of the plugin or of Sonar, but I thought I'd bring it up in case any of you can confirm it for me. I've noticed this with multiple plugins, but I'll use Slate's Virtual Mix Rack and U-he's Tyrell as an example. I will insert Slate's VMR on a track or bus. I'll load a preset and the plugin's GUI will populate with the preset's modules and all the settings on the modules will be adjusted per the preset. This works as expected. The name of the preset is also written in the text field. However, if I close ("x" out) the plugin and then bring it back up again, the name of the preset I had chosen is no longer there. It just says "default". While all of the settings remain in place, the name of the preset I chose is no longer there. This is troublesome since I'd like to be able to see what presets I chose in case I want to use the same one again on a similar project but can't remember which one it was. It's also happened with U-He's Tyrell instrument. My chosen instruments will still be loaded (thank God!), but the name of the instrument in the text field will just read default. This is very troublesome since there are a ton of instruments to choose from in Tyrell and sometimes I'll forget which one I chose. Can anyone else reproduce this issue with any of their plugins?

Which version of Sonar?
Please try a VST reset in preferences. Then do a VST rescan.
Thanks.

I'm running Sonar Platinum 64bit (in my signature).
This happened in Sonar X3 Producer as well, and I belive I've done a rescan since upgrading to Platinum. I'll try it again though.

I can confirm this with splat and x3, but also in cubase 7.5 and ableton live 9, so I believe it's an issue with the vst.

This sounds similar to the issue reported in SPlat awhile back where the text field for a ProChannel preset would not update in Console View if the Prochannel was not open in the Console View track. It would update the text field in Track View but Console View it remains "Untitled".

I'm of the mind that this is definitely a Tyrell issue, however, because the same behavior can be replicated across daws. It also only happens with the vst3 version of Tyrell, not the VST2.4.
