This guy 'masanoriutsumi' does some really nice backing tracks to play over, very well done.

We really are spoiled with this Internet thingamajig, I remember wishing I could afford all these backing track CD's when I was a kid.

WHY would you not want to create your own backing tracks?

For pretty much the same reason as I enjoy collaborating with other people. These tracks have things in them that I wouldn't have thought of, and lead me to play differently.
 
Personally I'm not capable of creating (for example) a Bonamassa-style Fm ballad backing track, so having one to play to is a cool thing.

Sounds like a fun project. Take his backing track and reverse engineer it. Reproduce as close as you can. You could learn much from doing this. I did that with his Santana track a while back. 
 
P.S. Well it wasn't his Santana Track and I can't remember whos it was but you get what I'm talking about.
