Clip moved everytime I select it

It must be a setting somewhere that I inadvertently set.  Now every time  I try to select a clip by clicking on it, say to edit the envelope, it would moved or aligned to something (left or right).  I do want to have the snap to grid on so all clips can start out on a time division, but not jump to something automatically when I click on it.

Right-click the grid graphic in the snap module to get to snap preferences, and lower the magnetic strength from "Extreme".

This can also happen if you have chosen landmarks, transients, or other elements for alignment in addition to the rhythmic grid.

I do think that an action like this should require a two-key like a cntrl or alt and click. On my project I didn't realized that a bunch of clips were mis-aligned until much later, and wondered what happened.  A click to me is 'I just want to select it'.  Is there a way to re-map the key for this action? Thanks

F6 will give you the Select tool only (not position/context-sensitive like the default Smart Tool - F5), which shouldn't move anything no matter what your snap settings are.
