Metronome not working in some project files

I have project templates that I have created in previous versions of Sonar (currently using X3e).  In some of the project files, the metronome doesn't work.  It acts like it will when I configure it through the metronome dialog window and hit apply.  But then it doesn't take.  I go back into the metronome dialog box and my settings are gone.  Like I said, this doesn't happen in all of my files, just some.  I can't see anything that is different between the files in which the metronome works and the ones in which it doesn't.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like contacting support would be in order.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I ran into this with some old files in X1 or X2. I don't recall the exact solution now, but I remember having to toggle one of the other checkboxes in order to get the audio metronome setting to save.

In the case of templatess I would suggest that you create new templates starting from the default Normal.cwt that ships with Platinum. Continuing to use old templates can introduce all kinds of weirdness into new projects, due to their not supporting the current crop of per-project config settings properly, even when re-saved from the current version.

You may already know how to do this but a lot of folks are unaware the the metronome is just another stereo buss that you can create from scratch.

If your metronome is missing from the buss pane just insert a new stereo buss.
    Name it metronome.
Assign the output to master or better yet directly to "audio interface output 1/2."
Open the metronome dialog and choose "audio"  and then assign the output to the new metronome bus. Done.

If you would like to use it in a live set up and you have a multi output audio interface you can assign the metronome output to an unused port like 3/4 and send that to your in ear monitor mix. You might want to change the sound to something a little less obnoxious than the default clip clop.

OK, one more metronome question.  When the metronome is on for "record" the metronome plays through the control room monitors.  I don't remember that happening before.  I have instituted a work around, but this doesn't seem to be the same in X3e as in previous versions.

    Thanks,

That's all about per-project and hardware routing. In the default Normal project template, the metronome outputs to a pre-defined Metronome bus that outputs to Master bus. If the Master is routed to hardware outputs from which the control room receives its signal, you'll hear it. If it's supposed to be going only to one of more performers' headphone mix, you just need to reassign the output of the metronome bus to the correct bus or hardware out.
