No drum maps? Also: V-Drums

[Windows 7, Sonar Platinum, Addictive Drums 2, Roland V-Drums Pro (the first one, with expansion]

New to drum maps, back to Sonar after 10+ years absence.

First off, when I bring up the Drum Maps Manager, there is nothing in the Preset pull down. Should there be? I found a bunch of maps that came with the Sonar install here:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\Drum Maps

I really don't want to have to remap AD for V-Drums manually if I don't have to. I found a map for it online and was going to drop it in this folder, but there is no File Open in the Drum Maps Manager.

ALSO: V-Drum rims: Those of you that have played V-Drums know that using the V-Drum brain, you get one sound from hitting a pad, and a different sound when hitting the rim of the pad. But when I'm recording MIDI in Sonar, I seem to be getting the same note # in the track. And what's with controller info that comes with the MIDI Events?

Any other V-Drums to Sonar tips?

Thanks for any pointers at all. Cheers,
Chris

To populate the preset drop down in the drum map manager, a new drum map must be created. But you would only do this to create a NEW drum map. If you already have a preset put in the the directory, then add AD2 to a project and change the MIDI output by selecting "New Drum Map", the new preset should be in the submenu. If you need to make further changes, open the drum map manager from there. Then save the preset if you want to keep the changes for future projects.

I've created a Roland TD-12 map for Platinum and AD2.  This whole thing could be simpler for widely used devices.  But it can be done with a little effort.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I found the issue with the presets. When I installed Sonar, I changed folder locations in Preferences assuming that Sonar would do the right thing and copy the contents over, but it didn't. So now the Preset field includes a lot of items.

There's one named 'Roland Expansion Drum Set 1.map', which I hoped would help out, but it doesn't.

I'll go ahead and create a new one for my TD-10.

for your question about midi cc parameters i'd refer to page 128 of the td-10's manual.  http://lib.roland.co.jp/s...s/1811143/TD-10_eG.pdf
