[Solved] Where the Devil Did the Magnifier Glass Come From
I'm happily editing my stuff when suddenly a magnifier pops up out of nowhere. I didn't touch a thing (at least not to my knowledge)! Is this one of the updates or what? Also the track sizes are acting strangely. When I enlarge or reduce one they all get changed. Again I didn't intentionally touch a thing!

That happened to me , too (the magnifier). I was in the process of moving some transients. I don't remember if it went away by itself or if I got it to revert by clicking somewhere else.

cpkoch I'm happily editing my stuff when suddenly a magnifier pops up out of nowhere. I didn't touch a thing (at least not to my knowledge)! Is this one of the updates or what? Were you editing MIDI or audio? There is a MIDI Microscope option. Also the track sizes are acting strangely. When I enlarge or reduce one they all get changed. Again I didn't intentionally touch a thing! You probably hit the Shift-Z key command, which initiates auto-zoom. This is a common error when you go to hit Ctrl-Z and miss.

Yes Craig, It is a midi file (actually a set of synth files)

Hitting [Shift Z] seems to have fixed the thing! Thanks again!

"Z" is the default for the zoom tool. It's another tool such as the draw tool, smart tool, etc. but doesn't show on the tool palette. Hitting "Z" will toggle it on/off or it can also be exited just by selecting another tool.

I'm sure that's how it happened to me as well. I remember now that I stopped it by clicking on the smart tool.

Nothing suggested in this thread makes the magnifying glass tool go away. I'm not talking about a tool that looks like a magnafying glass. I just looks like the glass part of a rectangular magnifying glass. Here's what it looks like:

Yeah...
As was mentioned earlier...
In the settings there is an option for midi microscope enable and settings... It auto enables when zoomed to a (selectable) zoom level...
It's under customization|editing

Bingo! Thank you, Keni. I don't know how I turned it on accidentally. I checked all of the keyboard shortcuts. Doesn't mater, it's fixed!

Glad I could help Danny... Actually, Craig makes mention of it at the beginning of the thread... ...I just posted where to find it! ;-)
