A song from our new album

Finaly, after a long hard road, the album from my band Terramater is out. It's called "Protheus" and it's a concept album that deals with this world, other worlds and problems with personal demons.
Even if most of the album is made in pro tools, I feel that I can put a little teaser in this forum, because Sonar have been used for tracking of drums ( MIDI from a Roland v-drum kit) and a lot of my guitars have been recorded in Sonar.

Here is one of the songs : "Hero"

http://youtu.be/-L-QdPtEJdo

The album was primary a 3 sides vinyl release only, but then we decided to release a digital version also on iTunes, Spotify and other digital platforms

Hope you like it

It's a good tune.  I like the time change, breaks it up a little.  Ambitious tune and well played.  I wish you a lot of luck on your release.  I could have used a bit more bass, but I play bass so I might just be greedy.  Just listened a bit on studio monitors and I don't think you would really want more bass so........ I'll listen again tomorrow when I can crank it up and not wake up the other side of the house.  Good tune.

This does sound nice here, good luck with it.

PS The songs forum is not DAW specific it is just a place to show you work with an opportunity to hear what others think also a place to learn and share your working methodologies.

This is nice stuff. I know a couple of prog fans who'd like this a lot. Like the subtle orchestration and the trem guitar before the fast section at 1:45. Time changes are beautifully handled, very smoothly arranged.

One of those would be me.  (Thanks for the heads-up James!  )

Very polished song and I also liked the changes!  I think I just may have to pop over to Amazon for the rest of the album.

Really interesting and unique. I love progressive stuff like this, with all the twists and turns. Nice vocal work. The mix sounds really good too. Thanks for posting.

Thank you all for the kind words.
If you're going to hear the rest of the album (on the digital plattform you prefer) It would be nice to hear what you think.
The album is totally "homemade" except for the mastering. Our keyboardplayer have produced the album with inputs from the rest of the band.
We also had some vocal input on a couple of songs (spoken words) from an American guy that you may have heard about, Mr. E.J. Wells.

I was going to say it looked like it was made in PT by the video, but then I seens your comments. Great example of how an album can be made on several daws. I love prog rock...so I had no problem really liking this! The aliens and druids kind of had me wondering, but it's probably just me not getting it :)
I like the way you wove a medieval theme at the beginning. Nice piano playing. Great all around song and production!!

Thank you Starise and Dan. I (and the rest of the band) really appreciate your positive feedback.
To understand the lyrics it would help to hear the whole album. All the songs are related and it's a story there :-)

Nice work!  Lots of tempo and "feel" changes, but good consistency throughout.   Definitely has a bit of a retro-prog thing going on... cool.
