[SOLVED] I can't delete Waves Plugins from plugin manager after full uninstall and delete

Hello ,

After I have uninstalled all waves plugins, during bad installation ,
the plugins are shown still in the plugin manager ! Even if I rescan everything .
All Waves files and Dll are deleted but somehow are still in the menus of the VST
and plugin manager.
Anyway to fix this ?
Thanks.

Your waveshell.dll (<- not exact speelling) may still be on your hard drive.

Until the most recent Waves Installer, they always put the VST2 "waveshell.dll" in an odd location and so I would copy it to my VST folder.

    Maybe you did the same?

Bapu thank you for your quick reply.
I have deleted all waves dll from my system and hard disk. I wanted to make a new clean install , cause I did a wrong installation first time.
Now it seems that Sonar is still keeping the Uninstall Waves VST in it's system and plugin manager.
Even if I run a waves uninstalled vst , it says that this VST is not properly installed etc , etc. Of course it's not installed , but why is it keeping it there ?  even after re scanning all plugins ?
I need to remove those from Cakewalk Sonar so to re install.

Are you using a custom VST list (I forget the exact terminology)? If so, maybe it's "stuck" there?

No Custom VST list. Everything is normal.
If those are hanging in the windows registry somehow , do you know where are they ?
or is there anyway to delete a plugin (not to exclude) from the plugin manager directory ?

Maybe scook knows. I surely don't. I've never completely uninstalled Waves. I just update.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.

I had the same problem. What I did that worked for me was using the Waves online installer. Uncheck the plugins that you want to uninstall. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Thanks , but I don't see that as solution . On the other hand why can't remove something from the plugin manager that it's already uninstalled ? is it a bug of Sonar ?

I vaguely recall having been through something similar thou not with Waves. I think what I did was to 'Exclude' and then re-scan and reboot Sonar. I know I did get it to work eventually.

One more thought. I may have had to go to the Preferences page and done a 'Reset' and scan again after the 'Exclude'.

Yes ! that was the one. I don't think the Excluded selection needed. If all DLL files are deleted and uninstall , the by clicking on "Reset all" in the plugin manager , VST Configuration , options , will do the trick.

    Thank you very much!

maybe it is something a little odd becuase it's looking at the 32 biy vst folder.  Try removing the folder from your vst settings and then scan again.
