CWBRN-31715: ACT remapping of WAVES VST3 plugins not functioning

Try to perform ACT mapping as documented in the manual (e.g. for VS-700, but forum confirmed it's also happening on other controllers)  ...

... selected controls on the controller should correspond to Sonar parameters adjusted with mouse ...

but they don't ...

ACT learn does not remember the "learned" parameters ...
NOTE: this ONLY happens with VST3 plugs (it works with VST2)

ACT mapping of VST3 seems to get confused by the "global bypass" button, which is added by common VST3 functionality (and I believe is not part of the actual plug-in code) ...  it ends up in the genericpluginparams.xml file as parameter 0 and always appears as the first mapped parameter while shifting other parameters up by one controller (??) ...

I'm getting that problem in X3e as well as Platinum - double checked: VST2 maps fine, VST3 does not ...

UPDATE: this applies only to WAVES plug-ins - I could successfully map FabFilter, David Bendeth, etc as VST3 !!!

    Probably not a Sonar bug.
Please try a RESET, then a rescan of your VST's.

Thanks, but did that several times already ...

Possibly so, but since I reported before figuring it is solely WAVES it's already reported ...
Maybe someone from Cakewalk can take quick look and confirm that it's WAVES fault.

Have you logged the issue with Waves as well?

    Probably not a Sonar bug.

I remember that WAVES plugs required extra work from Sonar dev to get them working properly when X3 came out ... maybe they forget about checking on the ACT mapping ???

BTW, there is a similar issue when trying to use WAVES VST plugs in FX chains (assigned knobs are shifted by one knob) ...

I am going to hold off on moving this one to Problem Reports for the time being, as there is not yet confirmation posted for this issue by others.

It has been confirmed in this thread here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3180297, see post #16 (http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3184431) but the thread got quite diluted by other questions ...
