Can I Skip The Braintree Install and Wait Until The Next Version Release To Update

I have the Platinum yearly membership

Hello,
The title says it all really. I am thinking about not downloading"Braintree" and just waiting to download it along with the next update (whenever it is released). I assume this would be okay? Also does anyone know if the updates are cumulative (that each new update version includes the previous versions content? I appreciate any insights on this.
Thanks,

Yes, you can do that.  I will most likely be doing the same.

Just wondering, why don't you want to download it now?

I can understand not wanting to install immediately, but I would download now even if I planned to wait for the install.

For my part, I am just a little hesitant about updating after reading the many posts of people running into problems. My thoughts are that perhaps by next time around the process will have been improved. I am not complaining. My system is just running so trouble free that I hate to introduce anything new at this time.

I don't know about the OP, but when I get home I have to feed kids, feed husband, shout at kids, do washing, shout at kids some more.. etc,.
When/if I get to my studio the last thing on my mind is "I'll just spend a couple of hours installing updates, then I can go put another load in the washer..."  Most of the time I pick up the nearest guitar and mess about for an hour or so. Or I'll be sat on the floor trying to untangle mic cables.  Or sat on the floor with a soldering iron fixing mic cables...
If I load Sonar it's because I'm doing something specific, usually a week late, like mixing the last gig I recorded and the band keep phoning me "Is it done yet??"

The vast majority have had no problems with the Braintree update. There is no guarantee that the next one wont give you problems.

I can't speak for your computer setup but I did the Braintree updates and they were abundantly easier to do than the old installations and I have had no problems whatsoever! The IRs for ReMatrix was a little tricky but if you follow the instructions in the popup Adobe document I think you will have no problems. The Hardgroove content went right in to the correct places. All I did was open the browser in Platinum and the loops were there. When I opened Rapture and checked the library there was the Hardgroove bass instruments.
Even if you don't want any of the plugins or groove librarys there are updates for the core Sonar program that you should have if you want to stay current.
All I did was open the Command Center and click on the new content to install and when you click on the Sonar Platinum icon you will see an update tab to click. The easiest 15 minutes I have spent updating ANYTHING!

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

For my part, I am just a little hesitant about updating after reading the many posts of people running into problems. My thoughts are that perhaps by next time around the process will have been improved. I am not complaining. My system is just running so trouble free that I hate to introduce anything new at this time.

There are many more people who had smooth installations, so the odds are in your favor. It's like the post yesterday about how Braintree caused all these graphics problems, but the issue was the user had hit Shift+Z instead of Ctrl+Z and entered auto-zoom mode. As I said to someone else, set a restore point if you don't trust rollback, download just the SONAR core component, and see what happens. I bet it will go just fine for you. Then download the rest at your leisure. Don't update Rapture, Dimension Pro, or Melodyne if they're already on your system...that's about it.

I'm one of those people who had no problems, except that I'd messed around with REmatrix and it caused an issue. So it was my fault and once I de-messed it, everything worked fine.

I think the update fixes somethings, and the issues seem to be with the new content.  So if you update and don't use things like the new Bark of Dog plug-in I doubt you will notice anything different. Perhaps you miss out on a crash or 2....

It's totally up to you. Updates are cumulative so the next update will include this.
The only "issues" were some confusion about where the new comment was. And one problem with users on monthly who didn't have an active membership. If your subscription is live it should be painless. You can also just install the app and skip everything else to get just the bug fixes.

Smooth and fairly quick here as well. I try to make time for updates and when time is really tight, I sometimes start them prior to going to sleep for the night. Somehow I sleep better knowing something else is working on my behalf while I'm doing nothing.  :)

IF I start an update I have to sit and watch it, because I know the moment I leave the room something will happen and it'll fail, or a dialogue box will pop up telling me to press 'ok' to continue for no reason what-so-ever and I'll come back 2 hours later and it'll be sat there laughing at me...

Managing how you do your updates and maintenance is a personal workflow. I either do it as soon as I get to the studio, and start it while I go to the bathroom, take off my coat, turn on the rest of the lights, and pop open my laptop to look at any notes while it processes. Or I do it at the end of the night and start it downloading while I go to the bathroom, turn off some lights, put on my coat...you get the idea.

I'm in the middle of finishing a record, so it's pretty easy to bust out some mixes, and start updating SONAR while I upload to Soundcloud and listen to them on my reference monitors. As long as updates don't require a restart I can work in another program entirely while SONAR updates in the background. Easy peasey.

I agree good update. I had to spend about 30 mins though moving stuff to the correct locations afterwards and hacking the registry (most people I suspect wouldn't bother).

No I'm just getting brainwashed/dyslexic by everyone else calling it that :)
A subscription by definition is something that stops once you stop paying for it - like a magazine or a cable connection. We chose the word membership to differentiate it since this is essentially a lease to own plan. Once you have completed 12 months consecutive payments or pay upfront you *fully* own the product just like purchasing it outright.
