BEST EXPORT RESOLUTION FOR MASTERING

I just wanna know what is the best export resolution  for mastering ? I recorded the full album in 96khz and 24bit and want to give them for mastering somewhere else . Shall i export them to the same sample rate or change them to 44.1 kHz and 16 bit .
Thanks for any help :)

I would export at the same sample rate and bit depth as your project. There's nothing to be gained from giving a mastering engineer a mix that has less information than the original.

I would ask the mastering service what they want. They may have suggestions that go beyond sample rate and bit depth.

Yes, contact the people who are going to master it to see exactly what they want.  If you don't know yet, use the project rate if it is > 16 bit/44.1

Definetely keep 24 bits for internet release, 16 bit for CD.

dont ever arbitrarily 'down-grade' to 16 bit without proper dithering,
and if you are doing the dithering,
you are stepping on the mastering's toes.

your files should be 24 bit minimum.

When I get tracks for mastering I like them to be of the highest fidelity possible to the recording.  That's my preference, but I can't imagine a situation in which that isn't the case.

I've received mp3s to master in the past, and always wind up having to do some high-end frequency fix due to the down-sampling.  Sibilance becomes a problem especially if the master needs a little sparkle, which it almost always does.  People here are giving good advice already - ask whoever's doing it - but it would be safe to assume that if you export the mix without changing the bit/sample rate you're good.

All music was recorded and all in Sonar.
