Estas Interesado?

There was a recent post written in Spanish that stuck out like dogs balls and considering the coffee house has occasionally provided some incredibly profound views and moments of literary worth,IMO,and wondered how much of what goes on here survives translation to not only Spanish but every other language of recording aspirants and artists.
hope my above analogy passes the censors as it`s common usage down here.
maybe I should have googled it first?
cheers

From the little I've noticed, people seem to have a difficult time just understanding english......although it being the primary language that they speak/write.

The good thing is there are plenty of helpful Sonarites in the forums willing to patiently sort it out when things get lost in translation.

It's ok,  you're allowed to say  "recording aspirants".

haha-thanks Karyn-but seriously this is awesome software and I suspect there are as many aspirants as members.
I reckon anyone who can produce a song in X4 or whatever it is now deserves a tick for their avatar and while I am at it considering the whole point of Sonar, the Songs forum should be the premier forum here, second only to Techniques.
after all we are all striving for the same goal- making and recording music not necessarily improving our tech skills as ,to me,mastering Sonar was a challenge in itself especially if you are not computer literate or part of the information industry and the expectation that an update will be as easy as the perennial windows updates is I reckon one of the biggest challenges Sonar faces-the base product rocks-the timing and efficacy of updates/upgrades seems to be the main problem here.

My favorite conversation with a VERY smart Mexican SysOp lady I used to work with (a fun little play on the language).

    Me: ¿Que pasa?
    She: Nada.
Me: El que nada no se ahogan!

Ha-my favourite is when my dickhead mate bought a Mitsubishi "Pajero" without the least bit of irony.
I heard the term many times in bars around Puerto Vallarta, accompanied by the requisite hand signal.
    lost in translation?
as kids we used to shout "itchy wa wa" when playing cowboys and Indians only to find it was Ay Chihuahua-a reference to the tough little men of the region.

Frenchie here thinks he's doing okay most of the times - though some things are indeed lost in translation.

Besides rudimentary English, I wanted to learn German but the only option I had in college was Spanish - which I intensely disliked for whatever reason. I forgot practically all that I'd learned as soon as I finished the last exam.

It sure would have been handy when we went to Madrid a few years ago... OTOH, Spanish isn't all that different from French, so I understand relatively well. Reading it is even easier.

Try Russian or Cantonese just for fun, though... Might as well be Klingon.

    hah-Live Long and Prosper

    not Klingon but appropriate.

I can order food, get directions and say thank you in 5 languages but cannot have a conversation in 4 of them.

but then again there are universal gestures and obvious intent in every language and sometimes a language barrier in a relationship can be intoxicating,if you know what I mean.

I have a young (well, 35 is young to me..) Hungarian lady helping me on Saturdays, she's been teaching me phrases for a while now. It's a beast of a language.
