Please make some acoustic guitar IRs

I'm enjoying the new studio IRs from the braintree release, but I recently read something on another forum about acoustic guitar IRs. link. Basically someone made impulse responses of an acoustic guitar body. I decided to experiment and see what I could come up with. First I recorded my electric guitar direct.

direct electric

Then I added an acoustic guitar IR from the link above using a freeware IR loader(you can use TH Sonar if you want)

electric with IR added

Then I used one of Craig Anderton's Prochannel EQ acoustic presets(Big and bright something) and one of the new studio reverb IRs.

IR EQ and reverb

I won't speak for anyone else, but I was suprised how close I could get to a real acoustic guitar sound using this method. I have an acoustic guitar, but it doesn't get much use because I can't cause too much noise and recording it is impossible because my 3 year old will start yelling in the middle of the recording. IMO this is a more than adequate substitute. Quick easy and painless.

Now since Cakewalk is partnered with Gibson, I'd like to have someone from Cakewalk make IRs of some of the Gibson acoustics and make them available in a future content update. Maybe this should go in the features and ideas section, but I thought this was a somewhat strange request and I'm also interested if anyone else besides me would use this. If nobody else is interested, maybe you shouldn't bother, but I thought it was cool and useful.

Would be interesting to hear them on Applied acoustic resonator string models.

Great idea! Calling Dr. Gonzalez...IRs can be anything, even something like a signal processor. I've been convoluted guitar chords with percussion. The results are unpredictable, but when they work, they REALLY work.
