Bottom of plug in list cut off in console view

When I open up the plug in list in the console view, the bottom is cut off so, the scroll arrow at the bottom is not accessible. Of course, that makes it impossible to access all my plug ins. It displays just fine in the track view BTW.
I run the console view on a second monitor. I have tried running the console view in the multi dock and not in the multi dock (Floating). This was never a problem in X3, it just started in Platinum.
I have installed all the updates.
Any ideas?

So, am I the only one having this problem? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? It was fine in X3.

Hey Rod, check your screen resolution settings in each monitor. Seems to me your settings may be too low. Go for the highest resolution your monitors and graphics card(s) will accept. That alone should get everything on-screen for you.

Thanks overdub: I have it set at the highest resolution. 1600X900. It won't accept anything any higher. My main monitor (With the track view) is at 1920X1080.

How about your font/icon size settings? Are they set above 100% ?  Any kind of zoom or magnification going on? A longshot idea: ctrl/scroll zoom in and out > I doubt that would affect SONAR but we're reaching at straws now. Stumper alert!

Anyone have any more ideas on this problem. It makes it impossible to add plug ins in the console view (busses) because I can't see them all and the list will not scroll. This is a real issue.
One thing, my main monitor is connected via HDMI and my secondary monitor (the one I'm having the issue with) is connected via DVI. Can this be a problem?

I have seen where some people were having some issues using a second monitor. Try dragging it on the main monitor and see if it persists. It related to display drivers I believe where they were having issues.

I have this same problem with using a 42" Visio TV for my second monitor.  It's resolution is 1080...and my main monitor is a 28" computer monitor with 1280 resolution.

My fix is to use the inspector for adding audio FX.  I just highlight the track I want to add the FX to and then do it in the inspector window.

Thanks Teds_Studio: At least there's a workaround. I had not thought of that.

For workaround there might also be an option to set the max number of insert rows to display. The fewer the sooner you get a scrollbar.

EDIT: My bad - this settings is for sends only. FX always adjust to max used inserts it seems - or is there a 5 limit?

I guess this is a bug/oversight of calculating for the new feature that adjust to not more than number of inserts - and diverse screen resolutions. Don't remember if you can turn that off and set whatever height you feel is safe - like in the old days. All automatic stuff should be able to disable.

I had to check, but I can only see one FX in console view.  It is a surprise to me that ANYONE can see a list of FX in Console View.  Really?

However, I never use console view to manage FX, I use Track-ViewAll and widen the track area so the FX bin is visible.  In fact my primary layout is Console View on the right monitor, and Track view (with FX bins showing) on the left.  Never had a problem.

With my "usual" arrangement (see above), if I pull up the divider that separates 'tracks' from 'buses' in TrackView, and click the "Bus" button in the Inspector ... I can add 5 effects to my master bus and each time it expanded to make each visible.  On the 5th Bus effect, the little (+) plus sign disappeared, but by going to another Screenshot, and then back again, it re-appeared.  Bottom line it seems that I can put 4 effects on a Bus with no problem, but beyond that it gets a little squirrely, i.e., with 6 FX on the bus I can't make the (+) plus sign come back.  ????

This has always been a problem and needs an overhaul. I have the same thing with the plugin menu on my second monitor. They really need to enable mouse wheel support for pop up menus although I suspect they're using an old menu widget that's been around since before mouse wheels took off (just a guess).

However you can scroll down the list using the up/down arrow keys and so that's what I do. It's annoying though.

I tried, and the mouse wheel scrolls the Bus FX bin into view in TrackView, and it also scrolls the strips in Console View.

We're talking about the floating plugin menu that appears when you insert a plugin. The mouse wheel does not scroll it.

What about creating your own plug layout? You could customize how many folders you see, and it would all fit on the screen, right?

Thanks overdub: I have it set at the highest resolution. 1600X900. It won't accept anything any higher. My main monitor (With the track view) is at 1920X1080.

this is a windows issue - the quick and dirty fix is to open your display properties and align the smaller monitor to the bottom of the larger one...

This doesn't work, at least not for me. I have my smaller monitor aligned perfectly with the bottom of the larger one in the option you're talking about (it snaps into place) but this does not make the bottom menu arrow appear. I've also tried raising it and lowering it and it makes absolutely no difference. As far as I know, that alignment option only affects the way the mouse travels from one screen to the other, i.e. if they're perfectly aligned then the mouse with enter one screen at the same relative position as it leaves the other, and also the position at which an object appears on one screen relative to the other if they're stretched across both.

I think what's happening here is that the menu widget is going by the main screen resolution to draw itself, regardless of whether it's on the main screen or the secondary screen, when it should in fact recognize the resolution of whatever screen it appears on. I wouldn't be surprised if, like the lack of scroll wheel support, the reason is that it's an old widget coded back in the days before dual monitors were commonplace.

That's weird... I'll have to double check but I remember this working for me.  Might have been another menu issue.

As mentioned above, we're talking about the floating plugin menus which appear when inserting a plugin (i.e. not dragging it from the browser). Here's an example taken from my second monitor - as you can see, the bottom of the menu is cut off and consequently the scroll down arrow is missing:

OK, I see.  I don't have that issue because I created Groups of Plugins based on what they do (i.e., reverb, echo, chorus, vocal, bass, etc.).  Plugins that I have deemed less useful are not included in my Groups, so the maximum number of VSTs in any one Group is maybe 10 ... so no scrolling to do.  Certainly speeds up work flow.

I've got the same situation in the TV but fortunately, my drop down continues on my monitor just below my big monitor.  It doesn't line up since the two monitors are at different resolutions but it's workable.
