Roland VS2480 as control surface?

Hey, I've just got Sonar Platinum which I've synced successfully (mostly) slaved to my Roland VS2480 via MIDI and the Roland QUad-capture.   There's still probs with audio engine dropout, and it also has playback issues (slower...!!  sounds like it's slowing down as it plays).
I can seem to overcome this by forgetting the syncing and midi control and just hit play on Roland and Record on Sonar simultaneously, which gives me the audio in Sonar I need.
My main question however, is whether I can use the ROland VS2480 as a control surface for the faders in Sonar.
