Gobbler keeps signing me out....what a pain

Every now and then I will go to open Gobbler from the system tray and it will ask me to sign in. As far as I know, there is no reason why it should be signing me out and I always make sure to check "keep me logged in" when I sign in. Yet still I'm being signed out every now and then. Of course while you're signed out, it's not backing up your projects.

So tonight I desperately needed to roll back to an earlier version of a project, something which Gobbler is great for. But I discovered I'd been signed out and nothing has been backed up for 24 hours. This is such a pain in the ass I can't even begin to describe. Does anyone else have this problem?

Since I have no idea what "Gobbler" is (though it sounds a bit disturbing), I'll go with "No."

It's the project backup and collaboration software that was integrated into Sonar with X3 and was seemingly dumped by Cakewalk in the recent upgrade. I didn't mind that because I found no reason to use the Sonar integration, Gobbler runs in the background all the time backing projects up after they're saved. It also keeps a version history so you can go back to previous versions you've saved. It's brilliant in theory and has saved my butt on numerous occasions but this signing out thing is a real pain.

It may be a security setting on your system.  Check both the O/S and any security software you have to allow Gobbler.  First up, it may be best to look up such info on Gobbler help files to see what they suggest.

It wasn't dumped by Cakewalk. Gobbler went to version 2 and don't have an API for Windows so Cake haven't been able to update. In the meantime it looks like Gobbler 2 is Mac only at this stage.

Gobbler 1 still works apparently but no more updates or anything from what I understand.

All I have running is Windows Defender. I sent Gobbler a message but given the complaints they receive on Facebook about people requesting help and not receiving it, I'm not holding my breath.

Help? I just had a look, not good.

I've not used Gobbler or Drop Box, but I do know a friend who uses the later and it assigns permissions in the O/S to allow access, which I think might be a security risk. Oh well, I guess Acronis may be the best solution and they appear to have reasonable help / support.
