Platinum is awsome - yet still wishing for more

I have some ideas for new features that I think could be easily implemented by the bakers and welcomed by many of us.

A) A quick loudness tool for analyzing audio clips. A one-mouseclick-away access to obtain the loudness information about a selected clip. I want need the new LUFS, the RMS-average and the RMS-peak (with a user-configurable time-window) numbers.

B) More loudness info: I want a choice of having the waveform (also) in RMS format.

C) One more for the loudness control: I want to be able to normalize audio clips to a LUFS or an (max or average) RMS value, also in dual-mono mode.

And totally un-related to loudness:

D) I would very much like to see a new feature, which I call Conjoin Clips for the lack of a better term. It would make parallel audio clips on separate lanes/tracks to act like one when it comes to any sync-related editing.

Say, if you edit (delete/Audio Snap) any of the conjoined clips, they all will change the same way. This way you don't have to worry about sync and phase issues.

I do know there is an editorial presentation by Dan Gonzales about editing multitrack drum audio HERE, but I've messed up the sync several times by accident even doing it Dan's way, e.g. if a track is not visible on the screen and is left out when making edits.

You should split these into separate feature request threads (at least split off D - its a separate item from the loudness stuff).

Yes for loudness. I agree with all your requests.

For conjoined clips, is that like the group tracks feature? I think we kinda have this already if you set it at record time.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Nope. Clip groups don't Audio Snap or stretch together, just slip-edit etc.

Wow, I totally misunderstood the purpose of grouping. I thought audio snap was the whole idea.

What would a waveform in RMS look like?  I can't get my head around this, as a waveform (I'm assuming you mean in the track view) by necessity is a sample-by-sample representation of the audio.

This might be an old link, but just making sure you know about it. Seems like you do. I don't use audio snap often.

Kperry, I think the RMS waveform would be a form just like the max form. It could even be a ghost inside the one we have now showing crest factor too. EBU128 as well. Wouldn't that be cool?

What would a waveform in RMS look like?

The looks of peak/RMS waveforms could be something like this (Orange = "peak waveform", Green = "RMS waveform"):

Or this (Green = "peak waveform", Red = "RMS waveform"):

Note that neither of these is exactly what I have in mind, they just visually ressemble it.
