SX4Pt - out of the PAN and into...

Project 44.1 24bit
Track1) Recorded mono voice
Track2 imported stereo mp3
What are some not-so-obvious things that would cause the PAN function not to work? I'm not talking Automation, just the knob.
Tried with: Mono vocal, Stereo music,
Copy/past in new project = same problem.
PAN does nothing, no shift Left or Right.

    What audio interface? I recall an earlier instance of this where an onboard soundcard's virtual mixer had a mono mode enabled.

    Stereo Interleave button is not making a difference. I also checked the Automation, it's set 50/50.
    MOTU 828 mkII FireWire (Iv'e used this for SONARx1-X4Pt)
     
    I need an X4 default template It might be a result of copying over Templates  from X34 and overwriting X4.
    So far every project opened, the PAN knob does nothing.
    Will someone upload a simple blank X4 default template? (or how to install only the Templates form command center?)

    Are you routed to a master bus? If so delete the master bus and all other busses as well and start with a fresh set of busses. This solved my pan issue.
