Track view keyboard shortcuts for scrolling

Am working on this audiobook editing thing mentioned in another thread. And I've got some it down to a fairly nifty process using a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and am getting pretty fast.

Here's one I can't find. You know how when you click in the horizontal scroll bar, it pages along exactly one view width left or right? So you can page through and not miss anything, whatever the zoom level? I can't find a way of doing that from the keyboard.

The closest thing I can find is CTRL+PAGE UP/DOWN, but what that does is move the now time by a measure at a time. At the zoom level I need to work at, that skips over stuff, so I have to do a lot of backtracking.

Anyway, if I don't find a way of using the scroll wheel less, my arm is going to fall off from RSI. So if you've any ideas, put em here.

Cheers all.

In your windows mouse options there's usually a setting for how far a mouse click will scroll or move the screen or something. Maybe theres a setting in the keyboard windows keyboard section there that can help you define what happens with the keyboard too.

Just a thought as I've recently rediscovered some useful options in Ease of use (win 8) or Accessibility options in Win 7.

Try CTRL+SHIFT+Mousewheel.  That scrolls the clip pane horizontally a page at a time on my system.  YMMV.

What I'm trying to do is avoid using the mouse apart from sweeping the range to delete. I've got it down really fast now. Just seeing if I can make it a bit faster.

And also avoid the scroll wheel. Did a day of that, and it genuinely started to hurt. RSI is definitely an issue on this kind of work.

Sorry, I saw "scroll wheel" and missed the "less" in your OP.

I use CAL scripts bound to shortcuts for small Now time movement.
Backward script
;; Name: Now Backward.CAL
(do
    (int offset 30)
    (if (< Now offset)
        (= Now 0)
        (-= Now offset)
    )
)

Forward script
;; Name: Now Forward.CAL
(+= Now 30)

autoHotkey scripts for binding CTRL+SHIFT+Mousewheel to the arrow keys
#if WinActive("ahk_exe SONARPLT.exe")
Left::Send ^+{WheelUp}
Right::Send ^+{WheelDown}
#if
