Now that's more like it...
My wife received her new iPhone this weekend, and, as a result, I inherited her old phone - which is quite an upgrade from the old iPhone 3G I bought in 2009 - it was already obsolete back then... I use those things to play MP3 and take pictures only, so I was in no hurry to upgrade. I dig that I finally can post a clearer picture of the natural relic'ing process my SG, though. :P Nothing remotely close to good quality, but definitely an improvement. And now that I can join the rest of the human race and do the panorama thingie, it's also much easier to get a picture of a room that doesn't look suffocating. :)

Envy... My room is so full of stuff that I need to move into the hall but I need to move piles of "bankers boxes" full of stuff from my parents house that I had to put somewhere so I can get stuff out of the walk in attic so I can put some of the clutter in my room and in the garage... in the attic. I'm so overwhelmed but it will get better. Nice room! J

Truth is I just can't work unless the room is clean and tidy. Since I spend the bulk of my time here and I'm the only one working in this room, it's actually pretty simple to just keep things clean. It's not as if the room also served another purpose, and I make sure that nothing that doesn't belong here doesn't enter the room, so that it doesn't end up serving as a storage space for stuff that has no place in the rest of the house. CraigB - you mean like those? :P

Does your studio come with an Igor? If not, you may want to pick up one or two for decorative purposes. A gigantic wall-mounted switch could be a nice addition, as well.

I saw the candle (though you'd need more than one - below is a good candle holder), but I mean wall torch. They've got some nice fake ones. Cool candle holders, the second one matches what you have! .jpg) These in black instead of silver would be cool. Meh. I'm not finding pictures that match what I'm thinking of... Maybe you just need to turn on your lava lamp!

I'd seen that second one, the one that's not wall-mounted. It's from the same cheap-ish collection as the one on my walls. Eventually, I will have to find new sources of light for this room - the humongous and butt-ugly ceiling fan/light takes way to much room and doesn't even generate enough draft to even mention it.

Rain natural relic'ing
The best kind. Now, what I don't understand is this. When Fender knock a new guitar about, sand the paint off and generally beat it up, that makes it a "relic" which is worth more, so I should expect to pay more for it. But when I "naturally relic" a Fender by, well, actually playing it and gigging it for years, I'm told that's "damage" which makes the guitar worth less so I should expect to get less for it if I sell or trade it. Why is damage inflicted by a master luthier worth more than damage inflicted by me?

A "naturally relic'ed" '73 Artic White (yes, I said "Artic White!") Strat belonging to Walter Trout (sitting on the table in front of me while I change a D-string he broke).

I'm obviously not Rain, but I've had a pair of Alesis M1 Actives for many years and they're one of the few pieces of gear that I've kept! Monitors, like headphones, can be a very personal thing, but I've really liked these (and would probably never buy a non-powered set of monitors).

I do like them, for what they are - a decent pair of desktop speakers. I'm not sure how they'd compare to similar offerings by M-Audio and such, but I do find them useful when it's time to check a mix.

hmmm, that's makes the decision harder, I was also looking at some 8inch ones, M-Audio's BX series, and some JBL's, don't know how much I want to spend, never really bothered with monitors as such, always just used headphones. If I just got some 5 inch ones, and found out what I have been missing, as I'm fairly sure would be the case, it would be a waste, because I would probably go out and buy some 8inch ones, leaving the others to gather dust. Wish there was somewhere I could compare. I'm just a hobbyist, and don't want to go over kill, but a half descent set of monitors would be good and do me.
