[Solved] Platinum: Crackling and poping during playback and crashing regularly
The crackling and popping has been going on since the upgrade. It crashes almost every time I change or close a project ( I think this has to do with Amplitude plug ins). Apparently I have sent enough of the crash dumps that I'm not getting anymore problem numbers. Got plenty of hd space Got plenty of memory Not sure what to do about this.... rafone

which driver mode are you set to? what is your latency set to? you may have it set too low for your system.

Also note that Amplitube has several options in preferences to change how much CPU it draws. In many cases you can "throttle it down" and not notice any sonic degradation. Also make sure you have the most recent Amplitube update. I like Ampiltube a lot, but it has some issues. For example on my computer, Studio One Pro won't load AT because it has crashed the program in the past, so now SOP has fenced it off. I'm going to try forcing a load again to see if any updates I did in the past made a difference.

I've been having "issues" with Amp3 for a bit. Seems to work OK in X3x86 but not in X3x64. Cake support suggests a re-intall of Amp3; didn't help. Delete (or rename) the aud.ini file in C:\users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar Platinum\ This solved some random dropout issues for me (this was making me CRAZY! Probably explains my occasional "surly" mood here on the forum; sorry for that ). UFX dropping out at 2048; WTF, over???? Hoping it will "solve" my Amp3 issues as well. Holding off installing Platinum until I get everything sorted. Testing later today... Tom

Craig I think you are talking about the Amplitude Preferences? I have the most recent update tia for all the help rafone

you might want to try to increase your latency and see if that helps. amplitube is a big resource hog. click on that ASIO PANEL button, that will bring up the Tascam software to control the hardware buffers, increase those (not the same thing as the number of buffers in playback queue, just leave those at 2). increase to about 2x what you currently have and see if that helps. if not, increase some more.

meh Craig I think you are talking about the Amplitude Preferences?
Yes. Even though you have things working, it's worth investigating those, you can often save a lot of CPU power.
