There seems to be a common theme among their various sports... 

Interestingly, we're always watching International Football (i.e., Soccer) in this house and I've been playing darts competitively for over 35 years (including victories over three World Champions), but I've yet to even see cricket being played!
 
I've watched Australian Rules Football, the Rugby World Cup, played lacrosse, two-man beach volleyball and hockey (among many other more recognized American sports).  Heck, I even find Curling interesting.  I bet I would enjoy watching a good cricket match.

It's good to see Ireland doing so well. And the UAE and Afganistan have shown a bit more fight than England given the level of investment in the sport in those countries.

I still much prefer test cricket with all its strategy, twists and turns. As for "Pajama" cricket the 50 over game is still interesting but I can't be having 20/20. It cricket for people who don't like cricket.

I also don't like them playing in "pajama's"........the whole day/night thing brought this out with using the white ball/flood lights. I do like the 50 over game though, but I wish they played it in the traditional whites (used to be the only uniform color). The T/20's are just a slog-fest and doesn't do service to the game whatsoever........ MONEY/filling stadiums changed the game.
 
I've been enjoying some of the test matches recently played and it's actually a LOT faster paced than it used be......at least the batting seems to be more agressive. In the older days, it could be a bit painful to watch batsmen like Boycott and the lot as he just protected/blocked all day long.
 
I've also noticed that the wicket preparation for the ODI's is much different than the Test matches. In the ODI wickets, they're much much harder (in order to produce more runs......better fan interaction etc.) than the softer Test match wickets. The harder wicket is definitely a disadvantage to the spin bowlers and even the pacies.......the batsmen can be confident that the ball will bounce evenly and not turn much (if at all).......while making it easy to hit the ball.
The Australian wickets are always hard and fast (like the Windies), but the Asian wickets are softer and more suitable for spinners. Depending on where the game is played, each country prepares it to suit it for their benefit........of course, the better balanced side that performs well usually wins.

I tried watching but it just didn't  hold my attention. I'm sure it's  because I was clueless about the rules. Also, althiu the I follow baseball, I find most games terribly boring to watch. The similarities to baseball did not motivate me to stick it out to learn rules. I may give it another go on day.
