display lagging behind sound

Hi
Just starting with Sonar Artist.
What I see on screen in staff view is out of synch with the sound - it's lagging behind.
Is there any setting that can cure this?

There may be other answers later to do with latency.
But the first thing I would do is update the audio device drivers and firmware, same with the displayer driver.
Make sure you are running ASIO!
Also check for updates in Cakewalk Command Centre.

Might be a good idea to list your system specs afterwards.
    Thanks...

Try pressing the Pause/Break button on your Keyboard, let us know if that fixes the problem.

Err, I do apologize. I meant that the sound is lagging behind the display.
Recently updated display and audio drivers. Sonar Artist already updated.
    Will re-install asio.
    Pause/break made no difference.
I'll get back to you tomorrow with results.
    Thanks

Hi what do you mean by reinstalling ASIO? If it's ASIO4ALL I would strongly recommend removing it, it's just a wrapper. Thanks

When I say make sure you are using ASIO, I mean you are using your ASIO sound driver (unless you only have WDM). ASIO4ALL won't help much I'm afraid.

Ah, OK, all drivers are up to date.

In Preferences/Audio/Playback & Recording Asio is in the list of Driver Mode but doesn't work. It tells me at start up:
There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system and later: ...choose a different driver model and later: The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware model...
However, setting Driver Mode to WDM/KS does work and cures the display - sound synch.
So my next problem is to cure the latency between keyboard controller and Sonar which I'll get to later.
    Thanks for your help.
