My main concern is dropping my interface in my backpack. I care so much about it, I really don't want to break any of its functionality.
I've just added it to a small portable rack, so that should make it irrelevant. I still plan to slide out the tray to distribute inputs.
I can have the Rack near the drums with the Audient 8 channel pre.
Fiber and word clock reaches 3 meters to the RME UCX which has 4 inputs within 20 feet
Then a 8 foot snake of 1/4 jacks reaches to the RME Quad Mic for another 4.
This allows me to stretch my short mic cables around the room.
The only hassle is I have remove the RME devices before doing it, then replace them in the rack.
I'm kinda pleased with the solution though. Just hope no one steps (or spills) on anything critical.

I make some videos.
This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
