Drum grid midi notes are long and not short in the actual midi clip

So, I've been programming drums using AD2. I use the drum grid in the piano roll. All I have are the basic hits with adjusted velocity. When the notes show up in the clip in the track pane, the notes in the clip are long, and I can't see what's actually been programmed into the clip. Also, the long notes cause my clips to elongate, and I have to trim the end of the clip to have it finish in the appropriate amount of bars. If I edit the notes near the end of the clip, I have to go back and re-edit the end of the clip. My snap is set to either 64 or 128. Even with the snap turned off, I still get the same long notes in the clip. I tried programming notes into the keyboard pane, in case there was a type of clipboard function I was missing that needed to be overwritten, and discovered that I can't trigger AD2 from the keyboard. I can only program in the drum pane. The keyboard won't cause AD2 to make any sound.

Is there something I'm missing, or is this the way it's intended to work?

Select all clips, and set the duration in the Event Inspector Module to 120 ticks. That'll give you nice short notes that appear about the same length in the Notes pane as in the drum pane. Then, if necessary, right-click the selected clips and Apply Trimming to shorten the end boundaries to match where the notes end.

You can set the default length for new notes (Event Draw Duration) in the Tools module of the control bar (Hit T for the Tools HUD if you don't have the module showing in the Control Bar).

Awesome! Will give it a spin when I get home. Thanks for the tip.
