Eclipse

This is how NOT to photograph an eclipse...     Steve will show y'all how it should be done..
 
Take one knackered telescope,  remove eyepiece and replace with a tissue from McDonalds.  Mostly cover the big hole with tinfoil (not shown).

 
Point iPhone at McDonalds tissue and take pictures...

 

 
 
As you can see from the multiple images, my telescope should have gone to landfill years ago..

    Saw it this morning, it was pretty cool!
     
    When I was a kid, I used to cover the end of the 'scope with a piece of cardboard from a cornflakes packet to cast a shadow, then project the image onto some paper behind the eyepiece.  You can then trace in the sun and its spots and build up a record or how things are changing on the sun's surface :-)
