Ketron SD2 and Sonar

Anyone using the Ketron SD2 with Sonar?  It's a hardware synth with some great sounds, particularly solo horns, but isn't easy to use in a DAW if there isn't a patch made for it.  Ketron makes a patch for Logic, Sonar and Cubase.  It also works with RealBand, a DAW included with Band in a Box.  I tried the Realband and Cubase demos but I didn't do well with them. (I've been using Acid for a long time.)  I tried Reaper and I found it easy to figure out, it worked great with Kontakt, but no patch for Ketron and Ketron sounds so much better than Kontakt (except drums).

Also, is there no Sonar demo?  Can't seem to find it.  Thanks for any help!

Yes, I've been happily using my Ketron SD2 with SONAR for years.

Thanks for writing!  What audio interface do you use and how do you wire everything up?  I know that may be a lot to ask.  I was fine when I used a small mixer and an internal sound card with the Ketron, but I switched to a USB external audio interface and now I have routing problems, I can't hear (monitor) an audio track and the ketron at the same time.  Do you record the Ketron as MIDI or audio?  If MIDI, can Sonar convert it to audio?  (freeze, I think they call it?)  Thanks again, at least I know somebody's doing it successfully.

I use an external mixer to monitor SONAR and my external synth.
The output of my Saffire and the output of the keyboard go to the mixer; I listen with headphones from the mixer or through a stereo receiver to my speakers.
If I decide to use a hard synth instead of a soft synth in a song, I'll connect the keyboard to the interface and record that audio output.
If the Ketron can output MIDI into SONAR, SONAR can't convert that MIDI into a sound that the Ketron produces; you would have to connect the audio output of the K to the interface and record that.
