Nectar 2 breath control module
I have nectar 2 elements but have been considering upgrading. One of the features (if it works) that intruiges me is the breath plugin. I realize no plugin can do this perfectly but if it reduces my workload significantly it may be worth it. Has anyone used this feature and offer some insight on how effective it is?

I have Nectar 2. I think Breath control works great. It basically has 2 sliders. I think you can download Nectar 2 as a demo. Breath control is very easy to adjust. You would probably know if you like it or not within an 10 min.

Definitely get the demo to test drive it. I do almost all vocals with a dynamic mic, so the breath control has not had much use for me (I just checked a vocal track quick and even at max sensitivity the breath control caught nothing). TBH, a great deal of this is proper microphone use by the performer. The Pitch Editor module is another unused part of that package, as it is very clunky compared to Melodyne.
On the other end of the spectrum, Nectar 2 unto itself is far more functional than Elements. The modules can be re-ordered to taste, and there is a Harmony module inside Nectar 2 itself that is a rather capable alternative to Melodyne (and easier to use). When opening the UI the first time, click the "Overview" button in the lower left corner and it will display the individual modules for you (you can then drag them around to your liking).

Thank you for responses. I ended up playing with the demo. As I suspected, the breath control module dud a decent job on tracks similar to what was in demo video. Fortunately ( i mean, unfortunately ), I do have some recordings along with similar breathiness. Would not have purchased just for that, but is nice bonus. Also did not expect much from pitch correction and hardly touched it.
I am blown away by how useful the presets are. Loving the harmony module. Bottom line is it is more than worth the 150 for my needs.

I like the Harmony module too. I also like the Reverb module, and I've been told that its quality is superior.

I think i need time with it to learn how to get most out of it, but so far i love the reverb. I have been using the rematrix included with SPLAT on vocals via send but this has potential to be go to verb for vocals

The Harmony module is rather slick but does have limitations. The slick part is that you can create up to 4 harmonies that are locked in semitone displacement, and you can pan & gain and adjust pitch & delay (second tab) on each separately. Pretty "traditional" as far as harmonies go, but carry with them that the semitone displacement is "fixed" (a situation where Melodyne is a better tool for this).
However, Nectar 2 also allows for a MIDI controller to be used to alter pitch, so it is quite possible that the Harmony module can be dynamically shifted with a MIDI controller (I have never actually tried this). The "MIDI Control" button in that module overrides the "fixed" displacement.

I have been experimenting with more real time control of effects parameters via controllers with other software, so maybe this may be an area this really shines. I finally got my MPD26 to work as a great real-time tool with Geist and it has really sparked some creativity.. Sometimes just turning knobs without planning can inspire
