Anyone know what type of FLIGHT CASE (Road Case) this is?

Hi,

I bought this Flight case on Ebay, which was listed as a "Storage Trolley Tool Vanity Case".

Listing:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221711209514

I did not ask beforehand if the tray/shelf was removable. I should not have bought it, and I now wish to resell it.

But I suspect it's true purpose was not mentioned in the original listing (nor known by the sellers).

The front panel is removable and drops down as soon as you open the lid.

The top tray is fixed and does not come out without being unscrewed.

Also, on the inside of the lid are two small metal brackets on opposite corners.

This makes me wonder if it is meant to hold drum sticks, or wires or something.

It would make sense if it was a drum case, or an amp case or something like that.

If I knew exactly what it was, I could use the correct wording and have a better chance of getting my money back.

It's not worth returning it to the seller, as I will lose the delivery charge, because it is not faulty. But if I sell it myself I might get the same or more than I paid for it.

Does anyone know this flight case's exact purpose?

Or am I wrong, and it is just a Storage Trolley, Tool or Vanity Case after all?

thanks a lot

Its hard to know, Coffee Time.   These anvil cases can be easily custom made for anything.  We order them all of the time, made to custom fit audio visual equipment, in the Exhibit industry.

Thanks a lot Mike,

So it could be a one-off custom design, eh?
Nice!

Custom would be my guess, too. Probably for some non-racked amplifiers or effects, the top shelf for cables.

If the width is right, you could add some 19" rack rails to it, which would make it more easily re-sellable.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
