Gotta Love Cakewalk

They have stuck to their promise and are delivering meaningful updates on a monthly basis.  They listen to and engage on a one to one basis with their user base. I love the way the bus routing has just been implemented on mix recall, I discussed this in length when Platinum was first released.

How many other DAW manaufacturers truly embrace their users like that? I laugh at all the Sonar bad mouthing on Gearslutz, they haven't got a clue!

In fact I'm so confident in their implementation nowadays that I actually just stopped mid session and downloaded the new version knowing I can simply revert back instantly if I don't like it

I don't spend much time at Gearslutz anymore, but like you, I just laugh to myself when they start posting un-truths about Sonar. We all know it's not prefect, but it's WAY closer than some other DAWs out there.

When promises are fulfilled its a lot more then it may first seem. Its so rare these days that we get used to being disappointed. Here we all bought into a company that has a decent track record with its users but not a perfect one. Now they put themselves out on the limb and have so far done everything they promised plus a lot more.

There is a new spirit in these forums. One that is about cooperation that I think comes in part from CW itself.

Especially when it just worked no problems whatsoever.  I do hope Cakewalk has a long and prosperous future

Funny thing,  I don't remember the Bakers promising a monthly update.  I was under the impression that they might try to do monthly updates.  The forum members seem to twist a couple of ideas and thoughts into "promises".  But Hey, if the Bakers can do monthly updates I'm all for it.  It is kinda fun...the only downside is I have to run Panu's Duckbar after every update.  I can live with that.

Being a Sonar user has never been so much fun, and I have had a LOT of fun with Sonar.

I hope I'm working enough that the next upgrade cycle is a no-brainer.  I actually could live very happily with Sonar as it stands now.

Care to point to the specific post? Not that I don't believe you, but I believe it was early after release that Noel came out to clarify. There had been some early ambiguity about the word "Monthly" which some took to mean literally "every Month" and Noel and at least some others took to mean "regular updates which are released over the course of the months of membership" (quotes are mine, not Cake's).
I accept this (and tend to prefer it, feeling that the releases whenever they occur should 'get it right' above all else), as do others from the feedback at the time. Of course there will always be those who don't find this acceptable, as it is proof that Cake is not meeting their initial commitments, etc, etc, etc.
Above all else (IMO) it is most important that customers feel they are getting value in every release and in the product as a whole.

Technically, the Demo *is* available and was from day 1. If you don't activate you go into Demo mode.

What we need to do is get a release setup and tested that just delivers the app through C3. This is on the roadmap, but fixes and attention to the current user experience is the #1 priority.

Best Regards,
Seth
