Problem with using midi plug in over adjacent clips

If I have 6 clips in a track which are adjacent but not overlapping and select all of them and apply the velocity plug in to bring all the velocities to 100, Sonar creates 2 instances of a new clip - which appears to be the first two clips in the sequence but joined into a single clip.  One of these new clips is pasted at overlapping the first clip (which i didn't notice to start with - as the notes overlap 100%)  the second new clip is pasted to finish at the end of the clips - which almost certainly makes for a discordant mess.   I get a similar result when I use the transpose plug in. Anybody else get this problem or know why it happens?  For the record I have recently upgraded to Platinum from Producer from versions 4,5,6 8 & 8.5 and I never experienced this with the previous versions.

Cakewalk Platinum, Windows 8.1, MSI Laptop  16GB, Steinberg UR44 interface

I had noticed this in X3 and it's still a case with Platinum. It appears that the MIDI plugins ignore cropped clips, resulting in multiple versions of the original clip.

A quick work around is to use 'bounce to clip' on each individual clip or bounce all the parts to a single clip before using a MIDI plugin.

Thanks for that - I've just tried it and it works.  Bit of a pain in @ however as i lose the clip name in the bounce.  So i guess i need to remember to adjust my midi workflow to make all the edits, bounce, then rename and then apply the effect.  Being able to edit, apply effect, edit again etc without the bounce step was much easier....

Yes, the renaming is a downside but I've become kinda used to working that way.
