Ok, so as a huge Eagles fan I was ready to be very critical. But, you did a nice job. It has a back country sound to the vocal and the instruments are nicely done. I had no problem listening to this and, in fact, I really enjoyed it! I was really impressed with the acoustic guitar sound.

Nice cover. The Eagles in their early years are among my favorite. Of course they are good in all their projects, but I'm partial to the early years..... nice job

That is encouraging. I have an old Ovation, 35 or 40 years old. I get a decent sound through the pickup but never liked the mic'd sound. i did get a couple new mics and will see how they work for that old dude. Thanks for letting me know what you used!

Teego, Nice cover, very enjoyable listen. The vocals and guitars are all great. There does seem to be some funkiness with the drums, i.e. they seem like they are dragging in a few spots. Otherwise, very solid.

Thanks Venus and Philz for the listen and kind words. @ markno999 I appreciate it . The drums should be spot on though as they are AD2 groove clips. I am probably a little off in my playing bass and guitars ,but I just threw this down for fun. Thanks for the listen and comment. @batsbrew Yep it is a challenge to sing and I can do it better but it was done all in fun. I know the harmony vocals could use some tweaking but I will probably leave it as is because I am not going to do anything with the recording . I appreciate you taking time to listen and comment.

Monty, you pulled this off very well. I love your voice for its warm and thick sound. I, too, have an old Ovation Legend that I don't use as much as I should. You got the best sound from that guitar that I've heard in a while. Congratulations on tackling such an iconic song and band.

Thanks Lynn , glad you liked it. The Ovation has surprised me as to how good it sounds mic'ed . It requires some pretty drastic eq-ing to get it there but it turned out pretty good.

The opening notes grabbed my attention not what you played just how they sounded, the mix translates well here, though the kick gets a little lost under the bass, just my furry eared observation. You made a good job of this thanks for sharing.

Thanks Wookie, and your furry ears are correct . the kick is a little low in the mix. It is the same in the original version so I left it like that. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Very nice cover. I listened to some of your other songs and was very impressed with the arrangement, recording and mixing of "This Town". Is it an original or cover as I don't remember ever hearing the song. It is quite nice and fits your vocal style. I had to smile listening to your song "The Old Guy" since I'm 64. Sounds like something Bobby Bare would enjoy writing and singing.

Thanks for listening and commenting Jim. This Town is an original song that I wrote and recorded. The Old Guy is also original and it was wrote in the style of Bobby Bare or Tom T Hall. Since I am no spring chicken myself it wasn't too hard to write. Thanks again.

Another Eagles fan here... I think you did a nice job with this! The mix sounds good overall, and your take is just different enough to make it your own. Love the ending.
