Lighting problem - solved! :P

Was scheduled for an MRI today - which, incidentally, allowed me to realize that I'm seriously claustrophobic - and took the opportunity to do some aimless shopping on the way home.

I'd been looking at a way to light my studio, but I wasn't sure what I wanted - I tend to prefer a type of bronze/glowing lighting, as opposed to something more surgical. It's all about nurturing that vibe.

Walked (reluctantly) into Home Goods and that pair of lamps immediately caught my eyes. Turned them on - perfect! Exactly what I was after. Deal!

And should I ever get tired of them, my wife made it very clear that she wants them for her office.

It's a pair of inexpensive DBX compressors - that I never use but which is just the right height to bring my monitor to eye level. :P

    I had a 44 that I loved. Lasted me 10 years.

Yes, the 44's were good, I still have 4 of them, moved on to the 1010's, got 4 of them as well, not looking forward to moving on from them, but then it may take a while before they all die. Most likely when that happens and I get something else I'll wonder why I waited so long, lol.

Change, can be a bit scary, but it's inevitable

The 44 never gave up on me -  not technically. I guess anyone with half a brain could have fixed it. The physical connexion on the PCI got looser and looser and eventually, lost connection. But I'd already moved to my portable Mac set-up so I just gave up. We were packing, I was getting rid of stuff, so...
