Into the Woods

Track that I was working on. Having to put it on hold now. But wanted to share it with you guys away. Haven't got a finished title again! But to my wife and I the theme of the piece is a something fitting with Snow White and the Huntsman. So I open to ideas again. All comments warmly welcome.

This is very pleasant Gus nicely arranged.  Another one in need of a title perhaps "Insight".

Yeah, I liked it.  Everything seems clear, nice melodies and counterpoint, and I like the repeating acoustic guitar/piano pattern for continuity.    The piano solo in the middle section is very nice.

Super!!  Excellent orchestral voicings to my ears.  Mix sounds right to me.  If the song had ended in a Major key (instead of maintaining the minor), it would have reminded me of an eagle "Leaving the Nest" and learning to fly (The Major key sounding "successful").  But "Into the Woods" or "Woodland Journey" seems to fit too.

    Cheers!

Your composition it is truly outstanding, very well crafted.  Excellent arrangements.

Minor criticism: In earlier parts of the composition some of the articulations felt a bit short. And the reverb/ambiance sounds a little mid-range in parts (nasal) I guess that be 400 to 1k range, care is required with that, either try filter cut on the reverb or strings, maybe both, hear how it goes.

    Important Tip:
Sample libraries are quite accurate, so accurate that certain notes such as 'A' can resonate, therefore needs to be tamed. You can use envelopes to automate filters for any specific 'note' in the composition. Professional performers usually know their instruments very well, well enough to tame certain notes that resonate more than others.

    I wish you great success!

Very nice composition. Doesn't sound  the least bit artificial to my ears. All parts sound in the right place. I can't comment on space too much as I'm using headphones for this listen...very nice!!

Hey, RussGus, very pretty composition.  I loved the flute parts.  Yeah, the instruments really sound good.  I like it all but really love the flute.  It seems a bit long but you composer guys just keep hearing stuff, huh?  That's pretty cool.  We old blues guys hear about 3 minutes and lose our attention span (unless it's a jam session then we can play the same three chords for an hour).  On to the next 3 min.    I did listen to the whole 6+ minutes and enjoyed it all.

Thank you. It could be seen as finished. I did intend on adding more strings to the last part and changing the piano around.

I also like the flute put, I think what make the flute in that section work that the harp, violins and clarinets are doing, really helps with the floaty tones there. On the whole this piece is 4 chords, using intervals changes things up so much. 6 mins and I felt that I could keep going on it. But I was asked to do a demo, so that's more important right now.

Thanks for putting your ears on the whole track.

Refreshing.  Kept my interest throughout.  The flute, harp and piano sound super.  The violin sections around 5:30 sounded a little false but even that was nice sounding.  Listened to some of your other works.  Enjoyed The Longest Night too.
