Those are nice. I believe I installed them once on a version of Reaper I once had a couple years back, but for some reason, they presented problems...like loss of some functions or something. Don't remember, but I wasn't willing to trade the excellent looks for some reason. I do agree that if at some point Sonar adapts to a GUI similar to this or the Boz Lab EQ strip just recently offered, ...or at least make it optional, will get hoops and hollars coming out of the woodwork....not to mention screams of glee.

I don't know why more people don't download Panup's Duckbar (SonarMods dot com) which makes Sonar skin able in a way. The more support he has the better a product he can make for us to use.

Using the Duckbar means you lose support from Cakewalk until you take everything back to the factory GUI. Kind of a pain in the rear if you do need support. Otherwise, always liked it.

I had such a beautiful looking Sonar X3 and it was a pleasure to look at and work in. Kind of like that bland office that had a make over making that much better to go to work.
With Platinum while I really like the workflow changes and enhancements, the fact that it's made my Duckbar unusable is really irritating and going to work in Sonar is no longer the fun it was in X3.

Yeah, they look great don’t they? If Sonar looked like that I’d be tempted to hang printouts of screenshots in the studio! As for skinnable views in the future, we can hope. mudgel I don't know why more people don't download Panup's Duckbar (SonarMods dot com) which makes Sonar skin able in a way. Well, that’s unfortunate. Anderton Don't forget that several instruments, plug-ins, and ProChannel plug-ins are skinnable. See this tip for more information.

Hmmm… “Unusable” as in Resonant Serpent’s caveat above, or “Unusable” in it just plain doesn’t work? If it just plain doesn’t work, that, well…sucks.

You don't lose support at all. Cakewalk ask you to revert to default Sonar before requesting support. Panup has always made Duckbar so that you can dial back to Sonar default with the press of a button. Simples!
At the moment with the monthly changes in the Sonar executable, Panup has had problems getting a stable release.

Never heard of it until you posted! I’ll check it out. Thanks. Duckbar does not officially support the new SONAR at the moment. It can be used for some things but the EXE Colors feature is broken. Using this feature causes SONAR to go into demo mode.

Seems like a Reaper forum question to me.

Wow, that does look great and really emphasises the plain awfulness of the X-series console view. Bakers please, please take note. TIA.

Wow. Love those Reaper console mods. I do wish Sonar had built-in support for skinning. It's kind of like racing stripes that make the car go faster. A pretty console might make my mix sound better. :-) But seriously, I would like to be able to easily customize the UI more to my taste. Dave

I've used both and prefer Sonar's aesthetic look. It's professional looking and easy on the eyes. I would like a few more options for customization of Sonar's track coloring, but complete re-skinning is not one of them. My primary gripe with Sonar's track colors is the washed out look vs. stark deep coloring options. I think Pro-tools has a better take on track coloring imo.

I like SONAR's look as well. However, some of those R consoles do have a really slick appearance. They did give me an idea though, for something along the same lines but consistent with what SONAR already gives us - console view display options that match the PC Console Emulators.

I love some different colouring in the Sonar GUI as available in Duckbar and like the rounded faders that I've been using for years. I don't need different skins.
Panup usually takes a little while to get a new version of Duckbar up and running after there's a major Sonar release. This is even more difficult now as Cakewalk has presented a moving target with a new executable released every month and significant changes in the bit maps which make up the graphic elements of Sonar. The fact that no stable versions of Duckbar are available any versions currently available are to be considered beta releases.

Although I liked those skins, I too REALLY like what Sonar has defaulted to. It works great for me and I'm not really into the bright colors so much. The "realistic" look is nice, but I'm perfectly happy with the current look.
