[Resolved] Find Change?

MIDI track, 2 velocities: 70 and 110. Find: (notes only), Change: Vel min = 80, max = 100;
Result: All notes set to 105 ?????

Edit: Slipped a digit, specified 110 instead of 100 in change. Result was 91-97 with correct parameters.

Tom,
Don't want to disappoint you with a response that doesn't match your expectation , but it's working here.  Using your notes and parameter examples, Find/Change found nothing and left all notes at their original values of 70 and 110.  This is the expected result, since the notes fell outside the 80 to 100 range.

I reran Find/Change and changed the max value to 120, which changed only the 110 velocity notes to 105.

Not sure why it's not working for you.  You may have already done this, but the first thing I do is click the None button to make sure all fields are cleared.  Also, make sure you don't click the "exc" checkbox under the Velocity label.  You probably already know, but "exc" signals the dialog to include everything outside the range, which in your case would have included all your notes.

Works for me.

I created a midi track and placed 32 midi note events therein.  The first 16 note events I set to a velocity of 70.  The second 16 note events I set to a velocity of 110.  I then selected only these 32 note events.

I then performed a Find/Change on these notes to change the 70 to 100 range to 80 to 100 range.

The notes were interpolated correctly.  The notes that were originally set to a velocity of 70 became 80 and the notes that were originally set to 110 became 100.  I am hoping this was your intention.

In other words, the find/replace function works correctly on my system.

I am running a fully updated 32 bit version of Sonar Platinum on a fully patched and updated (drivers and patches) Windows 32 bit machine.

Can you gives us a bit more information about your system and maybe the steps you are going through.
