Changing Track Color - Can It Also Change The Clip Background?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if instead (or along with) changing the midi notes/audio waveform color, when choosing a color for a track, is it also possible to change the background color of the clips for easier viewing.  Maybe its an option I am missing?

I like the screenshots from Logic when I see all the clips for the drums are green, bass is blue, etc....

Thank You,
Adam

Ahhh ok - thanks for clearing that up.  Hey is there a way to make it so you change the track color and it does NOT change the MIDI note colors?

If I understand what your asking, yes you can. Click the clip you want to change and its in the inspector, theres background color and forground color. You can also change the background color of the entire track view under preferences. I didnt like the dark gray either so I used light gray. Let me know if that answers it

    Thank you Pariah,

I know about this option, but once you bounce a clip or manipulate it, it goes back to the default color.
    Thank you though!

What I do want to know still is:  if there a way to make it so you change the track color and it does NOT change the MIDI note colors?

    Thanks,

Ah I dont know then, I never actually worked with the clips after I changed the bg color. Seems like an easy enough option to add that changing track color changes the clip instead of the waveform. I personally like the clips being all the same color and the waveform being what changes but I definately would like that option as well.

This is possible, but you won't like the result. Go to Preferences > File > Initialization File, then enter "PRVUseForegroundColor" in [Option] and "0" in [Value] and click Set > Apply > OK.

By doing this, all PRV note colors become black (=default clip background color), and changing the track color no longer changes the note colors. Note that even if you change the clip background color from the default black to some other color, the PRV note colors remain black. I think this is because of the new color customization implemented in X3. The "PRVUseForegroundColor" option was introduced in X1 or maybe earlier. So, this option is no longer helpful.

    Tak T.
