If you search in Google for doc:

    site:cakewalk.com documentation sonar drum map

Try the above terms - the 'site:cakewalk.com' above tells Google to search only the Cakewalk site, and the 'documentation' term further filters the search.  The other terms will change every time you look for something else, but if it is documentation related, including site:cakewalk.com documentation (plus whatever other search terms you want) will give you a nice set of results.

If I am searching just the forums for any threads about something, I use something like the following:

site:forum.cakewalk.com sonar step sequencer drum map

Anyways, the above are a couple of handy ways of searching for stuff that you might find reduce the result set you get back, making it easier to locate info that is out there.

User Blades made a video tutorial quite a while ago http://blades85.com/music/sonar/88-specific-topics/79-sonar-drum-maps. The mechanics of the process are the same. My approach is a little different, I prefer to work from documentation so I open up either a blank map or an existing map that I know is close to what I want and type the changes directly into the Drum Map Manager editor.
