POD HD 500/X users...

Firmware updated to 2.6. New amp models available (at a cost) and new global EQ.

Us 300/400 users need to be patient but will be treated to a similar upgrade shortly.

I'm wondering if those add-on packs have anything to do with the POD Farm add-ons. Because I actually own most of them. It'd be nice to run some of that stuff on the POD HD.

Truth be known, there are things for which I find my old POD 2 more adequate than the POD HD. I'd be curious to test an XT.

Actually, yes. Some of the new amps from the add-ons are from the POD X3, AFAIK the same amps are used in Pod Farm.
So the non-HD amps from this list are from the "old" X3/PodFarm, don't know which are HD though :)
( I have the HD500 so I'm still waiting for the new FW)

I have a POD X3, it was having a problem so I bought a POD HD.  I hated it, my X3 "Tones" wouldn't work on the HD and the HD effects were not as good as the ones in a POD XT and X3.  It also changed my tone slightly (lost a small amount of body).  I send the HD back and bought a almost new X3 off of e-bay.

I use the POD with my pedal steel guitar and do not use any distortion type effects - mainly delay and reverb.  If I were using distortion the slight tone change would not be noticeable or an issue.

I have the POD Farm 2 and frequently use it with Sonar.

I'm dying to try the JC120 for my funk/Nile sound, and of course jazz tones.
Also, I've heard the Pete Anderson is great - AFAIK it is a modified Blackface amp of some kind.

I had a similar experience when I went from an X3 to an HD500. It took me a while to figure out that the gain structure on the HD series is completely out to lunch. Every amp and every effect added cranked the gain higher and higher. I had to carefully create my own patches, and match gain levels at every stage. About 3 months into using the HD I finally got it all dialed in... The last time I pulled out my X3 it sounds like it has blankets over it. The amps (especially the clean amps) are so much nicer in the HD series... IMO of course.

What I miss more than anything is the 4 band parametric.

Many, many years ago Line 6 modeled Pete's Blackface Deluxe for "his use only". It's a Blackface Deluxe with a more robust Power Transformer and Output Transformer... it's also setup to run on 6L6 tubes rather than 6V6's. I guess that kind of makes it a Super Reverb in a 1x12" deluxe cabinet.

I got the update for my HD500 last night.
The new FW gave an option for a "global EQ", which I don't need since I only use mine in my home studio.

The second part, the good one:
It opened for the new expansion packs (like I don't have enough to spend all my money on ) and I got to install these (I've already bought them 2 weeks ago)

To sum up: my hands are tired from playing. New amps and Sonar Platinum in one week.
The JazzChorus was just what I wanted :)
