RIP Doug Sax

Can't say I knew a lot about the guy but I've heard the name mentioned a lot since I started getting interested in audio production, and I've come to understand he was a legend in the mastering world.

I am very sorry to hear this sharke.

I met Doug Sax when he mastered Sue Saad & The Next at The Mastering Lab in L.A.

He was very patient with me and showed me his techniques which included two sets of EQ and limiting before we burned the mother nickle plate.  A few masters were then made from the mother plate and they were used to mass produce the LP's.

He was a great guy and had a profound impact on LP mastering back in the day.
