Platinum online documentation downloads ??

Under "Support by Product" when I select Platinum, it returns no documentation downloads. For all previous verisons upto X3, the pdfs of reference guides, user guides, etc, are available under support for direct downloading. But these are missing for Platinum.

Any suggestions on where I could find them on the Cakewalk website for downloading ?

By the way, I know that they could be part of the 1.4 GB Sonar Help and Tutorials download in the Platinum package installers. I dont intend to download that right now and fill my hard disk space. I just need the guides documentation all of which could be under 100 MB size in total. They could have been very well provided as a separate download from the tutorials. Just wish...

They are part of the Braintree update. They will need to be explicitly downloaded by downloading Sonar help and tutorials.

Thanks John. But I had stated in my first post that I know that.

Why am I having to download a 1.4 GB file if I just want the reference guides documentation which may be probably less than 50 or 100 MB in size ? It simply defeats the purpose and idea of breaking down downloads to smaller more convenient sizes which was supposed to be the improvement in this new model upgrade.
At least as an alternative, the reference documentation being separately made available as downloads under support was really convenient. Why are such convenient ways being discontinued, if I may ask Cakewalk ?

By the way, dont get me wrong, this is not mere cribbing. I love Sonar and all the work that is being done by the CW team on the updates; it is commendable. But why discontinue some of the convenient and useful ways of support that existed ?

Further, as an improvement, can we have a chat forum for tech support and idea brainstorming ?

It has become available as a single pdf download but I don't have the link, having downloaded the Help and Tutorial files bundle to get it.

I think the link is from Noel and it's in one of the stickiest. Perhaps the I one about the release of Cambridge.

I've transitioned to using the online help on an as-needed basis. It's more current than the PDF and is available when new releases appear. However, that doesn't do you much good if your computer is not connected to the internet.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Exactly...and thats the point. One may not have the luxury of the internet every moment of his or her life. Secondly, one may also not have the luxury of a terabit internet connection or the adequate data package to download 1.4 GB just for the reference manual and user guide. Thats why the need for a separate download link just for those. I find it hard to understand why this is such a complicated thing to achieve when far more complicated software achievements have been made...sigh...

Anyways Craig...good point on the online help being the most current and being continuously updated. One improvement that can be worked upon even there is the feature for creation of a pdf out of the point-in-time database of the online help / reference manual. It just needs to be built in within the online help page so one can create for oneself a pdf out of the existing help database as it stands at any given point in time. One can go again and create an updated pdf after a period to get the latest changes made to the online manual.
Now I have seen such a feature on many websites and I guess thats a simple feature to include in today's advanced software and net world.
Should be a cakewalk for Cakewalk !

Can the feature for creation of a point-in-time pdf document from the online documentation be considered and introduced by CW ?
