What does "General Failure" when closing/saving mean?

So today, as I was closing a project, Sonar Plat asked me if I wanted to save.  I chose "yes" and got a dialog box that said "general failure".  So I saved manually, no error and then closed, again no error.  So, no data lost, but it did give me a fright.

Anyone seen this?  Just wondering what it meant?

That sounds more like a message from Windows more than Sonar.  Which version of windows are you running?

Have you checked the project to make sure it is OK?

I haven't seen "general failure" but i have seen "general error".

This only ever happened when attempting to save  project but I can't recall ever having lost data because of it.

I've yet to see this in SPlat

I have only seen the "general error" one time and was on a very large project. The solution was to bump up the File System I/O to 512KB (Preferences->(Advanced Mode at the bottom)->Audio->Sync and Caching). Until I did that it would not allow me to save at all, and I have left it at 512KB since without issues.

The general failure error massage is a Windows error message. It has many reasons why it would give this error message, depending on what else in on your pc

Hmm, it's possible that the error was "general error", and it was a very large project.  I will try mettelus' suggestion of bumping up the File System I/O to 512KB.  Thanks for the advice.

I occasionally get the general error message on saving.  A second save attempt seems to work.

I've seen this too, both in SPlat and earlier.
If I click the audio engine button to disengage it, it then allows the save.

No idea why, but that's how I work around it.
