MixScenes Folder

It's not a big thing, but Sonar always creates a folder named "MixScenes" when I open a project or midi file. This folder is deleted again if I don't use the Mix Recall feature. I think it would be better to create the folder only when it is really needed, i.e. when a mix scene is actually saved. Also, a central place for mix scenes (like the Audio Data and Picture Cache folders) might be a better solution to keep project folders clean. At best, Sonar would use the project folder when the project has its own folder, or a central folder otherwise, like it is doing for audio files.

Finally, when I open a project and save it in a different folder, the MixScenes folder in the original folder is not deleted, even if it is empty.

It would be more logical, but I'm not sure why it would be better.

MixScenes are so closely tied to specific projects I think it makes sense to keep it in the same folder as the rest of the project data. Projects are also more portable this way; otherwise you'd need to dig around in a central folder to find the MixScenes that go with a project when moving it. Or, you'd call up the project and save as... to a new folder to create the MixScenes, but the way it is now saves that extra step.

That makes sense to me. I think in general, saving something to a different folder shouldn't alter the source of the copy.

Why would be more logical not also be better? Notwithstanding that a folder that doesn't exist because it isn't used also will not persist when Sonar crashes, or in the other case when saving to a new file name.

About using a project related or global folder for mix scenes, it's the same as for per project audio folder. We can chose to not use a per project audio folder (which is very reasonable when doing midi only projects), and in that case, the mix scenes folder should be global as well.

I agree with this I'd like to get rid of it, I don't use it.  Lots of MixScenes folders on my hard drive from when Sonar crashes.  It's presumptuous to create a folder assuming the software will still be there to get rid of it later.  Is there a setting in an INI file anywhere to disable this?  Can we get one?
