You can merge one project into another by dragging it from the browser. But when you start a new project anyway, you can simply delete all but the tracks to keep and save it as a new project.

You can load in 2 projects and drag the midi / audio over, just put the other projects track view aside and move over whats needed, dont think the softsynth assigned will follow though...

If you use per project audio folders you can import audio from any project into any project from that folder. Drive -> Cakewalk Projects -> Target project -> Audio. I'm not sure if midi files reside there as well.

Be aware, only the data will be copied, no settings, plugs,....

Been asking for track copy for over 10 years. (many other DAWS have this)

If all the tracks are in the same project:
     delete all the un-wanted tracks
save as to new folder and new name

    ===========================
    And:
    Sadness prevention:
I NEVER use SAVE. Save is destructive.
I only use SAVE AS, every few minutes.
I always add the current month to the file name, and each time add a letter to the file name:
    Great Project 0415 a.cwp, Great Project 0415 b.cwp, Great Project 0515 a.cwp,...

Yes I end-up with dozens of project files.

With a new version of Sonar I add the version to the file name if project started in previous version:
    Great Project S15 0415 a.cwp,...
    Project files do become corrupted.
Changes get made that cannot be easily undone.
Opening projects in a new version can bring unhappiness.
Best to be prepared with recent, multiple backups.

Ralf gave the simplest solution: "when you start a new project anyway, you can simply delete all but the tracks to keep and save it as a new project."

But for future reference, you can't copy entire tracks - all the track attributes, effects, sends, etc. and the clips - from one project to another. What you can do is save track templates, then drag in clips. You can also play with creating a mix recall template, and recalling the track mix characteristics you want to preserve. Then, bring in the clips.

MIDI is embedded in the CWP file of the project. But you can save any project as a MIDI file too. I do this as part of my back up for important material. I always save as a MID. file. Not only is it future proof, it can be opened in other DAW's without issue. We often put a lot of work into the drum tracks so this is a solid backup.

But the easiest method is the side by side drag and drop unless there's a lot of short clips spread along the time line. Then you might think about exporting audio track by track. Or bounce them first.
If the target project is blank then the save as a new project name method is best.

I have a video in my signature.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
