Melodyne Question

Hello All,

I have the Essential version installed with Sonar Platinum, but I am thinking about buying a better version for more vocal controls.   Can I install that?  Would it mess up Sonar and the Command Center somehow?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,
Adam

There is only one binary for Editor, Assistant and Essential. Purchasing an upgrade changes the license and unlocks the features for the upgrade. It does not install a new program. All updates and upgrades are handled directly from the vendor. The Cakewalk Command Center is only meaningful for first time installation of Essential.

Ok I think I get it.   It's the same application, just the new serial unlocks more features.  I wonder though if Cakewalk releases an update for Melodyne though, will it revert me back to the Essential version?

Thanks scook!

Yes, same app, buy an upgrade and get a serial number to unlock new features. Melodyne has its own update process. Once installed, I would only update Melodyne using its process unless specifically instructed to use the Command Center. I would use the Command Center for the initial install only. If upgrading from X3 Studio or Producer skip installing Melodyne. There is only one Melodyne license for each SONAR license so if one purchases an upgrade from X3 Studio or Producer, they are not receiving an additional Melodyne Essential license.
