And it's here!! :)
Looks great, sounds great, feels awesome - the neck just locked into my hand. A bit chunkier than the one on my Epiphone LP Standard, though not as chunky as the Traditional. I'm quite shocked, it's absolutely the best balance between both. Same pick-up config as the SGJ (498T + 490R), but the sound's a whole lot different - as I expected. Both guitars will complement each other nicely. Zzounds advertised it as "blemished" but besides some normal wear on the pickguard, I've not spotted anything. I was crossing fingers and expecting some quirks - not sure whether it's be something minor I could live with or if I'd have to return the guitar - but I hardly find anything so far. For $799 with the hardshell case included, it's a pretty awesome deal. Can't wait to put new strings on it and start recording. :)

Well, ain't she a beautiful sight. Great price. What's that signature say on the head? Can I borrow it? {nah, never mind} - Post a demo audio in the near future, I want to hear her roar.

Beautiful. When I was 15 in 1972, I knew very little about guitars. An ad on the back of Guitar Player magazine made me fall in love with (the look of) Les Pauls. It was 2 LPs, one black and one white. Yours looks just like the one in the ad. Someday...

I assumed he was messing with us Craigb. When I first posted this image to my Facebook page I actually had some one respond in all seriousness....."OMG, there is an actual Les Paul!....is that him".

Nope - and it's actually one of the reasons I bought this one, because I didn't want min-etune.

My first guitar was a poor copy of a Les Paul. A piece of junk, really. I'm sure it hindered my development, even though I gained something else persevering. To make it worst, it was tobacco sunburst - the worst finish for this young aspiring metal god. So the minute I could, I switched to Fender strats and avoided Les Paul's until a few years ago. Funnily enough, the first non-strat guitar I bought was this cheap little Epiphone, which I picked up in view of our travels overseas. That's when I really started getting back into Les Pauls. It's kind of fitting that when I finally get my genuine Gibson Les Paul, it's the same colour scheme as this inexpensive guitar which first got me back into them.

BTW...Congratulations on your new guitar, Rain! I think you should get "Raindy" Rhoads engraved into the pickguard.

Rain Nope - and it's actually one of the reasons I bought this one, because I didn't want min-etune.
I bought mine mostly on the strength that it was priced at £649 new, instead of the more typical £899 for a Studio in the UK. It's a 2013 model, hence it had the tuning system installed. I wasn't sure about how well the Min-ETune system would work or how I'd get on with it. Now that I have it, I have to say I love it to bits, it's an amazing piece of kit.

Funny that you mention that - I've been getting back to the source and working on those Rhoads songs for a few weeks now. I've made a tiny bit of adjustments to the new Les Paul tonight before I started practicing and I soon found myself in something like a state of grace - my fingers seemed to fly all over that fretboard, so I could focus on expression rather than hitting all the notes in time. In terms of playability, I always thought the SG had quite an edge, especially because of higher fret access. But the neck on this LP makes it a breeze to play - quite surprising. It's a very inspiring instrument.

For all the Gibson knocking that goes on, just a basic LP Studio is a fine piece of kit.

A few weeks ago I was watching one of those Anderton blindfold tests and the Studio really stood out nicely against the rest of them - sonically, I actually liked it better than the Standard, as far as I could tell from listening someone else play it on YT... Binding and all is nice and if I were rich, maybe I'd have one of those fancy Les Paul Custom. But for playability and sound, I really can't complain. And there's a charm to the simplicity. Did I mention I love those Kluson Deluxe tuners? :P

Congratulations. Beautiful guitar and fitting for someone who dresses in black. Makes the guitar really stand out. :-) Excellent deal for $799 with the hardshell case and these beautiful tuners. A few weeks ago I said that I'd rather buy an Epiphone and upgrade parts such as pickups and tuners, but you made the wiser choice for the same amount of money. And: Rain Binding and all is nice and if I were rich..... You don't need binding on a white guitar, do you?
